Expressing his gratitude to the government, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor described his inclusion in the Operation Sindoor delegation as a privilege and reiterated his steadfast commitment to serving the nation.

In a statement, Tharoor said, The Government of India has invited me to lead an all-party delegation to five key capitals to present our nation’s perspective on recent developments. On Saturday, the government announced the names of political leaders selected to lead diplomatic delegations abroad as part of outreach efforts following Operation Sindoor. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor will head a nine-member team visiting the United States, Panama, Guyana, Brazil, and Colombia. Meanwhile, Supriya Sule will lead a separate delegation to Egypt, Qatar, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
The delegations include both opposition and ruling alliance leaders—Tharoor, Kanimozhi, Sanjay Jha, and Supriya Sule from the opposition, and Ravi Shankar Prasad, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, and Shrikant Shinde from the ruling coalition. These leaders will engage with key partner countries to brief them on the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and India’s subsequent response under Operation Sindoor.
BJP MP Baijayant Panda has been assigned to lead the delegation visiting key nations in the Middle East and North Africa region, specifically Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria. His role will involve engaging with leaders and officials in these countries to present India’s perspective on recent developments and strengthen diplomatic ties.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will head an eight-member delegation to major European destinations, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the European Union headquarters, Italy, and Denmark. This delegation will undertake high-level meetings aimed at briefing these nations on the recent Pahalgam terror attack and India’s measured response under Operation Sindoor, while also reinforcing bilateral and multilateral partnerships.
JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha has been designated to lead the delegation to Southeast and East Asian nations, including Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. Meanwhile, Shrikant Eknath Shinde will oversee the diplomatic outreach to the United Arab Emirates, Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Sierra Leone.
DMK leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi will head the delegation tasked with engaging European and Eurasian countries—specifically Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia.
“The seven all-party delegations will soon begin diplomatic engagements with key partner nations as part of Operation Sindoor, underscoring India’s unified stand against terrorism,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced on Saturday.
